About the events in Argun

In all, in the course of clashes since 9th December, Russians lost more than 30 commandos and employees of special services.

The staff of command of Chechen mujahideen informs about continuous armed skirmishes in Argun, which began in this city since 9 December. As communicated earlier, precisely on 9 December, but not 12, as Russian invaders assert, mujahideen attacked the small convoy of aggressors, while destroying two vehicles and armored-carrier (BTR) of enemy. After this was burned vehicle «Niva» with 4 employees of the so-called occupational prosecutor office.

On 11th December, commandos of aggressors blocked one of the blocks of city and attempted to occupy particular apartment house, where were found several mujahideen from the composition of Islamic brigade «Jundullah». 

Specifically, the soldiers of this brigade carried out a series of successful combat operations against aggressors in Argun. Since the beginning of the assault of house for the help of blocked mujahideen arrived soldiers of «Jundullah» and other Chechen mobile subdivisions. As a result of fierce fighting, more than 20 invaders were destroyed on the spot. In all, in the course of clashes since 9th December, Russians lost more than 30 commandos and employees of special services.

From 12th December, large forces of occupational formations blocked Argun. Aggressors moved heavy tanks and light armored vehicles into the city. Local skirmishes against the background of punitive action of aggressors were occurred all the day long on Thursday in the city. 

According to the data of Chechen side as a result of clashes, one mujahid became shaheed. From the Russian side, loss composed 6 invaders of those killed and one unit armored personnel-carrier (BMP). Argun as before was blocked. However, all basic forces of mujahideen left the city on the night of 12 December. 

According to reports, entering Russians took several tens of innocent residents and drove away them into Khankala. There are data about the death of 8 innocent citizens, including four women and two young children, who were shot by invaders in the course of punitive action. 

Russians left southern areas of Ichkeria

According to the data of Chechen sources, basic forces of invaders, who were concentrated earlier on the boundary of Vedeno and Nozhai-Yurtovsky districts of the country, in Regitin mountain range, two large convoys left towards the village of Khattuni and further to Shali. 

At the same time, in the area of Marzoi-Mokhk, Tsentaroi and regional center of Vedeno continued local clashes with aggressors. The mobile subdivisions of Chechen soldiers repeatedly attacked enemy, after destroying not less than five units of different military equipment of aggressors and about 15 soldiers.

Chechen sources inform about explosions of the military installations of aggressors in the region of the village Oak-Yurt and in Johar. Near Oak-Yurt of mujahideen from subdivision «Zalmai» destroyed BTR and 6 aggressors. In Johar from the grenade-guns was burned vehicle Urals on Staropromyslovsky route. At least, two invaders were destroyed.
