The
staff of command of Chechen mujahideen reports that in Gudermes all the day long
on Tuesday occurred fierce clashes between formations of Russian
occupational-terroristic grouping and subdivisions of Chechen troops. According
to data of the Chechen side, subdivision of Amir Yusuf attacked military convoy
of the enemy in outskirts of Gudermes, after detonating several
remote-controlled mines in the way of moving convoy. As a result of explosions,
two Ural vehicles and one armored-carrier (BTR) of cover were destroyed. In the
course of subsequent skirmish were killed not less than 23 invaders and
approximately so many were injured.
From
Chechen side 9 mujahideen became shaheed. It is reported that with the
withdrawal of Chechen subdivision from the city, Russians attempted to block
mujahideen. However, as a result of decisive actions of Chechen soldiers,
attempt of blocking of the route of withdrawal was foiled. Amir Yusuf reports
that as a result of shelling and helicopter firing on the urban blocks, at least
12 innocent civilians were lost. The greatest losses among innocent civilians
were after rocket firings from helicopters Mi-24. Similarly, several private
houses and five-floored building were destroyed in the outskirts of city.
According
to the data of Chechen sources, on Tuesday approximately at 18:00 o’clock in
the evening, mujahideen left city, after carrying out combat mission. Chechen
side reports about clashes with aggressors in Johar, where invaders carried out
total punitive action against peaceful inhabitants of the capital.
According
to the data of the command of mujahideen, skirmish with aggressors occurred in
Zavodskoi and Staropromyslovsky districts of the city. As a result of clashes,
at least 6 invaders were destroyed. Two UAZ jeeps were burnt up of the so-called
6th division of occupational militia. In the course of punitive
action, aggressors took approximately 250 peaceful residents in hostages and
took them to Khankala. The fate of these people is not known.

Representative
of Putin, General Kazantsev appeared at the press conference in agency «Interfax»
with commentaries regarding meeting with representative
of President Aslan Maskhadov, Akhmed Zakayev. Kazantsev stated, «they
found no practical responses to the statements of Vladimir Putin from
Zakayev.
He
could say nothing about the possible procedure of disarmament of bandit
formations and starting process of peaceful life by fighters», said Kazantsev.
According to Putin plenipotentiary, «meetings are necessary, if these meetings
lead to the peace in Chechnya. If these bear only theoretical nature, then there
is no sense for further meetings», emphasized Kazantsev.
In
turn Akhmed Zakayev in his interview with NTV stated that there is no question
about disarmament. Both sides have the chance to stop war. And Chechen side is
ready for this. So far as the degree of control of situation in Ichkeria by
Aslan Maskhadov is concerned, according to Zakayev, President Maskhadov controls
much more than invaders.
Meanwhile
situation in Ichkeria remains tense. The subdivisions of Chechen forces, during
the last twenty-four hours conducted several military operations in
Shelkovskaya, Vedeno and Nozhai-Yurtovsky districts of the country. According to
the data of Chechen sources during these clashes were destroyed not less than 20
Russian aggressors and were burnt up 5 units of military vehicles. From the side
of mujahideen were killed two soldiers and 4 obtained injuries.
