President
of CRI, Aslan Maskhadov rejected accusations to address of the Chechen side in
forcing of intensity in Abkhazia. In interview of Radio Liberty, Maskhadov
declared – «it is necessary to ask at once: to who is favorable are all that
are occurring today in Abkhazia? Today the conflict on border of Abkhazia and
Georgia is not necessary for Georgia, because Georgia uses the best efforts to
remove military bases according to agreements of the Istanbul summit of 1999
year from Gudauta and Vaziani. For Georgia, this is most important. For Chechens
the most important is to bridle Russian aggressors to stop war, we are not
interested in Abkhazia. Other side to which is favorable is Russia because
Russia in every possible way wants to delay the issue of conclusion of Russian
armies and military bases from territory of Gudauta and Vaziani. Therefore, I
think, that the main director is there from Moscow».
Russian
aviation bombed Ichkeria
The
staff of command of Chechen mujahideen informs, that the Russian aircrafts last
days have sharply strengthened their activity. Bombing and rocket attacks were
made on Vedeno, Nozhai-Yurtov, Shatoyev, Cheberloyev and Itum-Kalinsky districts
of the country. During bombardments, according to Chechen side, were lost at
least 19 peaceful inhabitants and about 30 persons have received wounds. At the
same time, mobile subdivisions of Chechen mujahideen continue to attack
positions and places of deployment of Russian occupant-terroristic formations.
Clashes
with aggressors have taken place in area of settlements Ulus-Kert, Zonah,
Janni-Vedeno and Ushkaloi and Sayasan. The Chechen side marks about local
character of clashes as a result of which about 25 soldiers of the opponent were
destroyed and burnt five units of military engineering of the opponent. Besides,
offensive groups of Chechen fighters have carried out a number of successful
actions against invaders in Johar and Gudermes. During these actions
were destroyed four units of military engineering, including one armored-carrier
(BTR) and armored
reconnaissance-patrol vehicle (BRDM).
In South of Ichkeria were
destroyed 20 occupants
The
staff of command of Chechen mujahideen inform about fierce fighting on the
border of Vedeno and Nozhai-Yurtov districts of Ichkeria. According to data of
Chechen side, mobile subdivisions of mujahideen from two directions attacked on
the so-called search-reconnaissance group of the opponent at a distance of
several km from Northern village of Dargo. Heavy exchange of fire lasted about 4
hours. Mujahideen applied light mortars and grenade launchers. In spite of the
presence of helicopters and aircraft support, serious losses were inflicted on
the enemy. According to data of Chechen side, during the course of fighting
clashes were destroyed up to 20 Russian aggressors. Mujahideen in the fight
snatched 13 guns, 7 machine-guns, and 6 grenade-guns. 3 mujahideen became
shaheed from Chechen side.
Clashes
with aggressors similarly occurred in Johar and Shelkovskaya district of the
country In Chechen capital, group of Chechen fighters attacked check-post in the
region of former Food factory, destroying UAZ jeep and one unit of BRDM. During
exchange of fire were killed not less than 5 occupants. A motor vehicle «Ural»
with 15 soldiers was blown up near the Building of Drama Theater. As
a result of explosion, 4 occupants were destroyed on the spot. In Shelkovskaya
district of the country, near to populated point of Sary-su, mujahideen blasted
BTR, destroying 2 and wounding not less than 5 aggressors.
