During
the entire 24 hours of last Wednesday in Pakistan, there were persistent
hearsays about arrest and displacement of general Musharraf. Rumors were so
convincing, that Arabian TV channel
MBC
broadcasted
the following report:

informs a source of TV channel
MBC from
Islamabad, that president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf has been discharged of
authority. Earlier was informed about differences in the Joint Staff of the
Pakistan army. Meanwhile about these reports are not made comments in any way by
official mass media of Pakistan and western news agencies. Analytics believe,
that the reason of revolution in Pakistan is the support, which Musharraf
rendered to military coalition led by USA.
Later
on Foreign Minister of Pakistan has categorically denied the
information about the military revolution, which supposedly occurred in Pakistan.
As representatives of Foreign Minister on Wednesday declared: «here has
occurred no any revolution». «The situation is under control, all is quiet in
capital of Pakistan», - official representative of the Pakistan's
Foreign Minister has emphasized.
Then
at special press conference in Islamabad, general Musharraf spoke. He declared,
that development of events in Afghanistan will consist of three phases -
military, political construction and regenerative. To the first stage, declared
Musharraf, Pakistan has only indirect relation. The leadership of the country
has given USA and their British allies air space for making bombing attacks on
Afghanistan and intelligence reports. Besides Pakistan is ready to render a
certain technical ground support, details of which are till now not informed. At
the same time, on Wednesday in a briefing for journalists of the Chief
of General Staff, Lieutenant General Aziz Khan says
that «Pakistan has not given any bases to Americans, and there is no American
military men in territory of Pakistan». Khan also informed, that the US
Secretary of State,
Colin Powell shortly will arrive to Islamabad «for discussion of situation in
Afghanistan, the indo-Pakistan relations, problem of Kashmir and bilateral
issues».
Before
agency spread the message that Pakistan has decided to give USA an opportunity
to use two air stations during American strikes on Afghanistan. Official
Pakistan sources have informed the western agencies, that American forces in
unusual cases can use air bases in provinces Sindh and Beluchistan. It was
informed, that American military men already arrived there.
However,
as inform sources of «Kavkaz-Сenter»
in Pakistan, hearsays about possible displacement of Musharraf and his arrest
are not groundless. Because of fear of military revolution, Gen. Musharraf has
removed from one of most influential post in military elite of Pakistan, head of
Inter
Service Intelligence
(ISI), Gen. Makhmud. According to our sources, there are reports of hearsays
that in the coming three - four days in Pakistan will be massive national
changes, and some military men may arrest and remove Musharraf from his post as
a result of national upheaval and national concern.
