Abkhazia
will regard entry of the Georgian armies in Kodori Gorge as aggression, Defence
Minister of the republic, Vladimir Mikanba declared in his interview on Thursday.
As he said, «In this case, Abkhazia will address to Russia for the help and
will call peoples of Northern Caucasus for the aid». «Today Georgia has openly
supported the international terrorists, who have intruded into Abkhazia from the
Georgian territory and planned to destabilize situation not only in Abkhazia,
but also in all south of Russia. Official Tbilisi actually has recognized, that
it sends armies to the aid of Chechen, Arabian and Georgian terrorists, who have
been blocked in Kodori Gorge», - Abkhaz Defence Minister, Mikanba in interview
declared to Russian news agencies.
Practically
simultaneously with this announcement of Sukhumi, Russia has asked Georgia «to
take drastic measures on liquidation of terrorist group in a zone of the
Georgian-Abkhaz conflict. About it is spoken in the widespread message of the
Russian Foreign Minister. The Russian Foreign Minister has confirmed, that on
October 10 in the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, the ambassador of
Georgia in Moscow, Zurab Abashidze was invited for conversation with the deputy
minister foreign Valery Loshchinin. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
informs, that the serious anxiety concerning a situation developing in a zone of
the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict was expressed to the Georgian side.
«Special
alarm to Russian side was caused by information about attacks taking place in
night between 8 and 9 October from air on the Abkhazian territory», - as said
in the report. «According to authentic data, attacks were made by helicopters
and planes of assault aircraft, which appeared above Abkhazian space by Georgia»,
- it is marked in the document. Attempts of Tbilisi to shift the responsibility
for these air strikes on the Russian military men, at least, are groundless,
declares the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.
It
is marked in the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation that nature of
present situation confirm interest of certain circles in Tbilisi in a solution
by force of the Abkhazian problem and developing conditions leading to renewal
of large-scale confrontation between Abkhazia and Georgia with participation of
the international terrorists». Russian Foreign Minister has assigned
responsibility for it to the Georgian side. Thus the Russian side categorically
has warned Tbilisi about inadmissibility of such development of events and has
demanded to take drastic measures on «liquidations of terrorist group in a zone
of Georgian-Abkhaz conflict».
Official
Tbilisi, in turn, accused Moscow of bombardment of the Georgian territory
and in escalation of confrontation in Kodori Gorge. Thus Georgian side as
against Russia is not baseless in the statements. Tbilisi declares, that it has
concrete proofs of belonging of bombing planes to Georgia on Tuesday.
Besides,
member of parliament of Georgia, Irakli Batiashvili has declared, that suspected
in the organization of act of terrorism against president Edward Shevardnadze,
declared in investigation by the Interpol is the former chief of security
service of Georgia, Igor Georgadze, who was in Sukhumi since the beginning of
last armed conflicts in Abkhazia. As declared by Irakli Baiashvili to
journalists, Igor Georgadze who has stayed in Sukhumi 3 days, has held meetings
with the leader of Republic, Vladislav Ardzinba, prime minister Anri Jergenia,
commander of the Russian peace-making forces, general - major Nikolay Sidorovich.
As he said, details of these meetings are unknown, though, Igor Georgadze's
arrival, presumably, was coordinated between Sukhumi and Moscow. Igor
Georgadze's arrival to Sukhumi concerns «serious plans of Russia in connection
with Georgia», Member of Parliament told.
The
chairman of department of state of investigation of Georgia Avtandil Ioseliani
informed, that the Russian peacemakers deployed in a zone of the Georgian-Abkhaz
conflict, strengthen positions in Galskoe district. At the same time, as he said,
a situation in Galskoe area is peaceful. He declared it to journalists soon
after end of a private meeting of coalition of parliamentary fractions "Centers",
in which also there was deputy minister of defense, Gela Bejuashvili and deputy
minister of state security, Simon Nozadze. On words of Avtandila Ioseliani, in
territory of Kodori Gorge controllable by official Tbilisi, Georgian guerrilla
and North Caucasian fighters are not present. He named the event of bombardment
on Tuesday in the morning of territory of Kodori Gorge as an act of provocation.
In
the meantime, procession in support of Georgian guerrilla has been taken out on
Wednesday by up to 150 refugees from Abkhazia in Zugdidi in front of the
building of a local mayoralty. As informs Prime News from Zugdidi that
participants of demonstration expressed solidarity to Georgian guerrillas taking
place in Kodori Gorge and have demanded from authorities of Georgia to help them.
Otherwise refugees are ready to take the weapon. Participants of the protest
declared, that they would carry out similar speeches and henceforth.
And
last stroke to development of situation in region. The president of Georgia,
Eduard Shevardnadze made announcement of possible exit of Georgia from the CIS.
And though later press secretary of Shevardnadze has tried to smooth sharp tone
of the announcement of the president, practically it does not cause doubt to any
body that Tbilisi already has made the decision of an exit from CIS and it
sooner or later will be implemented.
Besides,
on Thursday it became known about entry of Georgian armies in Kodori Gorge. This
step in Tbilisi was explained by necessity of protection of the peaceful
population, which is exposed to attacks and murders.
