Tens
of thousands of Chechen refugees living in camp towns on the territory of
Ingushetia do not receive hot food almost two months already.
President of Ingushetia Ruslan Aushev stated this in an interview to
“Interfax” on Tuesday. Ingushetian
leader puts the responsibility for such situation on the Ministry of Federation,
which has been given the function and financial means, according to the
government’s decision, to provide refugees with nutrition and food.
Ruslan Aushev reminded that the number of officially registered Chechen
refugees in the Republic remains stable and equals 149 thousand people.
“The
situation of these people comprised mainly of women, children and elderly is
extremely difficult. I told this
before and I will repeat that the refugees survive exclusively on the account of
humanitarian aid rendered by international organizations such as UNCHCR,
“Doctors Without Borders” and a number of others,” Aushev remarked.
He called the accusations of the leader of Chechnya Ahmad Kadirov that
Ingushetia is not interested in repatriation of the refugees “dishonest and
absurd”. “Only the person who lacks honesty, conscience and the who
broke Caucasian customs can say this.”
