In
a mountainous region of Dagestan, a Russian war helicopter shelled a car of
local residents. As a result,
spouses who were inside the car were injured and their child was killed.
It was reported in the press service of the Interior Ministry of Dagestan
that the raid on the civilian car was performed on Sunday night in the high
mountainous region Gumbeta. The
helicopter shelled the car UAZ-452 with Ibragimovs family inside with a machine
gun. Consequently,
inhabitants of the settlement Andi Magomed Ibragimov, born 1950,
and his wife Mesedu, born 1950, received wounds of variable degree of severity.
Their seven-year-old son Abduljalil died on the spot of the inflicted
wounds. After the fire attack the helicopter flew off to the Chechen
Republic, as Dagestan’s Interior Ministry reports. Russian military, frontier guards and Interior Ministry
immediately declared that the shelling was performed from “an unidentified
helicopter”. Press secretary of the Federal Frontier Service of the Russian
Federation Sergei Ivanchenko claimed to “Interfax” that none of the
department’s helicopters was performing a flight in the Gumbeta region of
Dagestan on Sunday. Central
headquarters of the internal troops of the Russian Interior Ministry as well
pointed out that the army helicopters did not make flights over Dagestan that
day. In addition, the headquarters
of the so-called “united grouping of the Russian army in the North Caucasus”
deny any involvement.
