Commandment
of Chechen mujahideen reports that by Monday evening, the battles in Argun
subsided. According to information
of the Chechen side that has been made more precise, in the course of the
violent crossfire, which lasted 15 hours, up to 40 Russian soldiers were
destroyed and 11 units of war enginery of the enemy were blown up.
8 more units of armored machinery, mainly BMP cars and BTR troop carriers,
were put out of operation. In the
clashes, Chechen fighters lost three mujahideen, including a commander of a
mobile subdivision from the Islamic regiment of special assignment, amir Amin,
Argun born. Nine mujahideen
received different injuries. At
about 8-p.m. local time, subdivisions of Chechen fighters, who participated in
the battles with the aggressors, left the city.
Headquarters of the Chechen commandment reports that one injured
mujahideen was taken prisoner by aggressors.
In the nighttime no active military operations took place.
Headquarters
of the Chechen mujahideen commandment reports also about clashes and offensive
actions in other regions of the country. To
specify, in Johar 4 units of the Russian armored enginery were blown up and 7
soldiers of aggressors were destroyed. Practically
all explosions happened in Zavodskoy district of the capital.
Furthermore, in Gudermes, a UAZ car and a BTR were exploded.
4 aggressors were killed. Also,
in Urus-Martan, an automobile and a UAZ car were shot with submachine and
machine guns. 2 aggressors were
killed.
According
to the data of the Chechen side, on Monday Russian army also blocked a
settlement Geldygen. As a result of
a punitive operation, up to 30 people were taken hostages, mainly youth in the
age 13-30 years old. According to
accounts of the local residents, in of the houses’ yard a mother tried to
prevent Russians from taking her 14-year-old son.
In front of relatives and close people, the occupants ran a BTR
over the woman.
