Georgian communists complain to Moscow against Shevardnadze

"Very productive" were regarded meetings conducted by first secretary Central Committee of Uniform communist party of Georgia Pantelejmon Georgadze this week in Moscow in the organs of the President of Russia, the government and the State Duma of the Russian Federation. In an interview with Prime - News by phone from Moscow, Georgadze informed that he told to interlocutors whose surname, he refused to disclose, about the hardest position of simple people in Georgia, who "are exposed to genocide due to President Edward Shevardnadze and his circles". Georgadze told that he asked Russian officials and politicians "to stop supporting Edward Shevardnadze " and has received "benevolent responses " in this connection. According to the leader of Georgian communists, the reason of his trip to Moscow became beating by police of communists in meeting on March 17 near park Vake in Tbilisi. " It is a vivid example of the severe relations with its own people ", - declared Pantelejmon Georgadze. He noted that he will return to Tbilisi in the beginning of April and then " National - patriotic union of Georgia " which includes Uniform Communist Party and other left forces, will determine the program of further opposition activity. In the meantime, while Gergadze stays with the son, interrogated by Interpol in Moscow, there are preparations in Georgia to celebrate anniversary of implementing referendum for restoration of independence of the country. When 10th anniversary of referendum will be marked before building of parliament on March 3, monuments will be erected in memory of first President of country Zviad Gamsahurdia and the then leader of national-liberation movement Merabu Kostava as suggested by the chairman of the Party of national ideology Zurab Gagnidze. Besides before these monuments the obelisk as a cross from a grapevine should be erected in honor of those who were lost during dispersal of meeting on prospectus Rustaveli on April 9, 1989 by action of Soviet armies, told Gagnidze in interview of Prime - News. In his opinion, two more monuments in memory of the founders of national ideology to writers Vazha-Pshavela and Alexander Kazbegi should be erected in the square of Freedom, at a place where, there was the monument of Lenin till 1990.
